Job Description

Senior M&A Associate

Location: London, United Kingdom

We are partnering with a leading European buy-and-build platform specialising in IT managed services and cloud businesses. Backed by long-term capital and part of a rapidly growing digital services group, the company has established a strong market position in the Netherlands and is now expanding aggressively across Europe, including significant recent growth in the UK.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the UK M&A team at a pivotal stage of expansion, working in a fast-paced, private equity-style environment with high deal flow and strong exposure to senior stakeholders, founders, and management teams. You will gain end-to-end transaction experience across sourcing, execution, and completion while playing a key role in the continued growth of the UK platform. The role offers excellent progression opportunities, international exposure, and a competitive bonus structure within a dynamic and entrepreneurial culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the execution of M&A transactions across the full deal lifecycle, from origination through to completion
  • Conducting detailed assessments of potential acquisition targets, including analysing financial performance, commercial positioning, and value creation opportunities
  • Building and maintaining financial models, including valuation analyses and investment cases
  • Preparing high-quality transaction materials, including investment memoranda, presentations, and due diligence documentation
  • Coordinating and supporting due diligence processes with internal stakeholders and external advisers
  • Engaging directly with founders and management teams to assess business models and strategic fit
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with advisers, intermediaries, and industry stakeholders to support deal sourcing activity
  • Contributing to the development and management of a high-quality pipeline of acquisition opportunities
  • Supporting transaction negotiations and execution processes through to successful completion
  • Contributing to team development, knowledge sharing, and the continued growth of a strong UK M&A culture

The Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline, with a strong academic background
  • Relevant M&A experience gained within investment banking, private equity, transaction services, or corporate finance
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or executing transactions from origination to completion
  • Strong financial modelling and valuation capabilities, including building models from scratch
  • Solid accounting knowledge and experience analysing financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders and management teams
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Highly motivated, hands-on, and comfortable operating within a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally when required
