Fire & Security Engineer\nLocation: Cardiff\nSalary: £32,000 - £42,000 (DOE) + Overtime + Travel + Benefits\nJob Type: Full-time, Permanent\n\nOverview\nA leading specialist Fire & Security integrator is looking to recruit a skilled Fire & Security Engineer to join their growing team in the Cardiff area. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience in either fire alarm systems or security systems who is looking to broaden their expertise, full cross-training will be provided to develop competency across both disciplines.\n\nThe business has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, compliant solutions across commercial and industrial environments, and offers long-term career development within a supportive and technically driven team.\n\nRole Responsibilities\n\nInstallation, servicing, and maintenance of fire alarm and/or security systems\nWorking on systems including (but not limited to): fire alarms, CCTV, intruder alarms, and access control\nFault finding and diagnostics across a range of manufacturers\nCompleting small works and system upgrades\nEnsuring all works comply with relevant British Standards (e.g. BS5839, NSI standards)\nProviding technical support and advice to clients on-site\nCompleting accurate job reports and documentation\nParticipating in the on-call rota (typically 1 in 6) \n\nCandidate Requirements\n\nExperience in either fire alarm systems or electronic security systems (CCTV, intruder, access control)\nStrong fault-finding and servicing ability within your core discipline\nWillingness to train and develop into the complementary discipline\nFull UK driving licence\nGood communication skills and professional attitude when dealing with clients\nKnowledge of relevant industry standards is desirable but not essential \n\nPackage & Benefits\n\nBasic Salary: £32,000 - £42,000 depending on experience\nOvertime: Paid at 1.5x weekdays / 2x Sundays & bank holidays\nTravel Time: Paid after 30 minutes each way\nCall-Out: £150 standby + door-to-door overtime if called out\nCompany Vehicle: Van provided with personal use option\nFuel Card & Expenses Covered\nAnnual Leave: 25 days holiday + bank holidays\nPension Scheme: Employer contribution (typically 4-5%)\nTraining & Development: Full cross-training provided (Fire ↔ Security) + manufacturer courses\nCareer Progression: Opportunities into senior engineer, commissioning, or supervisory roles\nTools, uniform, PPE provided \n\nWhy Apply?\nThis role is ideal for an engineer who doesn't want to be pigeonholed into one discipline.
