Manpower is recruiting a Cook on behalf of our public sector client to work within a restaurant and canteen environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous cooking experience who enjoys preparing fresh, home cooked meals in a commercial kitchen setting.

Location: Heath, Cardiff
Hours: 5.00 pm - 1.00 am (Full time)
Pay: £13.45 per hour weekdays until 8.00 pm. £17.91 per hour 8.00 pm - 1.00 am
Shifts: Any 5 days from 7, including weekends.
Contract: Temporary
Duration: 3 months

The Role

* Preparing and cooking fresh meals including dishes such as curries, lasagnes and other homemade style meals
* Supporting the day to day running of the main restaurant and canteen kitchen
* Ensuring all food is prepared to a high standard and served within agreed timescales
* Following food hygiene, allergen and health and safety procedures at all times
* Assisting with stock rotation and maintaining cleanliness within the kitchen
* Working as part of a wider catering team
* Ensuring excellent customer service is provided to staff and visitors

Essential Requirements:

* Previous experience working as a Cook within a commercial kitchen environment
* Experience preparing fresh, homemade meals
* Valid Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
* Good understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards
* Reliable, flexible and able to work evening and weekend shifts
The role is subject to satisfactory references. We are looking for someone to start within a week.
